Women’s Division Info

1.     Uniform – The uniform for 2012 and 2013 is Light Blue Suits or Dresses and Camel (Tan) accessories.  Corsages and handkerchiefs will cost $10.00.

2.     Music packs will cost $30.00.  Please come prepared to purchase the music.  The writers are really losing money when we don’t purchase their music.  They have the expense of scoring, publishing the music and shipping it.

3.     Ladies, we want to award a scholarship to a deserving young member in your chapter.  Please check the GMWA website and click on the link for Women’s Scholarship.  Fill in the application and submit to our scholarship committee.

4.     The Hatters’ Tea Affair will be better than ever.  For our early bird special the tickets are $350.00 per table from now until June 1.  After then, the tables are $400.00 or $40.00 per person. We distributed the tickets at the Board Meeting.  If your chapter did not receive tickets, please let us know.  We would like for each chapter to get a table.  Our Theme this year is: “Christmas in July”.  We have adopted a women’s shelter and ask that you bring a (Christmas wrapped) gift for a woman and child.  You are welcome to bring notions that women and children need on everyday bases. If you know of organizations that are willing to help us sponsor this event, please forward the names to us!  We really need your help!!!!!!!!!

5.     We would like for each chapter to join in the MS GMWA contest.  Congratulations to the Houston Chapter whose Queen was crowned MS GMWA last year.  For years now it has been Birmingham and Houston competing.   Please represent, (please, at least bring us a donation from your chapter), this helps us fund our scholarships.

6.     Remember ladies, our first rehearsal is on Sunday after Communion.  We are looking forward to seeing you there.  Bring a friend and help us boost our membership.  We expect all women in the Workshop to come and register with us.

7.     Ladies, don’t forget to take charge of your health.  Eat properly (more fruits and veggies, less salty and sugary snacks), drink plenty of water, exercise (walk) at least 30 minutes a day, and remember to do your self-breast exam and get your mammograms done.  We can eliminate many of the diseases that are plaguing our communities by changing our lifestyles.  So let’s start eating right and let’s get moving!!!!!!!!!!

We can make this a great convention if we get started now!  God Bless and see you on July

Much love,

Eloise
